This week we finally finished another shoot for my personal project “Life In A Somerset Landscape“.
You may remember early October I went on a recee to PH Coate & Son “Willow & Wetlands Centre” with the plan to return and photograph the wicker harvest.

As you can probably guess the harvest was delayed due to the severe flooding which saw Coate’s withy fields under 2-3ft of water for many weeks.
With the water now receded the guys had to race to quickly harvest the withy before it flowers and becomes unsuitable for basket making.
The image here shows John Dyer and Malcolm Musgrove taking a well-earnt break from gathering the withy and is titled appropriately “A Late Willow Harvest”
