I come from a family of car lovers.
As a child, my father owned various sports and prestige vehicles over the years BMW’s, Lotus, Mercedes, and a beautiful Concours condition 1969 Porsche 911.

So it fair to say I share this family passion although there are no 911’s tucked in my garage just my 1969 Lambretta scooter.

April 2021 continued like last year but with a slightly bigger bang.
I had started a contract last year shooting for a holiday company capturing holiday cottages and other holiday accommodation for the homestay holiday market.

Ironically the travel industry is one of those hardest hit by the Covid pandemic yet this provided the homestay U.K market with a huge boost for demand.

The past 4 weeks have turned out to be been very busy with me clocking up well over 2 thousand miles on my travels and shooting huge amounts of images.
In between, I’ve also been busy finishing off a video production for another client so juggling the two has been at times interesting!

I’m looking as we all are to the better weather as we move into May (hopefully) and exploring more beautiful countryside and beaches that the South West of England offers in abundance.

April has been amazingly busy so when I found myself with a free day I decided to make the most of it and head out for a few hours following my nose with a camera in hand.

March last year I started shooting a contract for Travel Company mainly around Devon and the South West capturing Holiday Cottages and other accommodation.
After a short break due to further lockdowns and waiting for the weather to turn things finally continued in 2021 with a large bang.

A week or so ago I found myself not far from home on a small shoot in East Devon.
Seaton is a place Ive visited quite a lot in the last 12 months with my family (when not in lockdown).

The Roadblock, Never Ending Flood Somerset 2014

Many images bring back fabulous memories of a place or time and likewise a few can be a little painful to look back on.
During the winter of 2014 the UK had some extremely wet weather and Somerset was especially effected by severe flooding.

A Place To Pause

With the New Year celebrations finished I felt the need to head out onto the Somerset Levels to explore with the camera.

I decided to head back to the RSPB Nature Reserve at Ham Wall not too far from Glastonbury.
I came here a few weeks ago (see Mist By The Marsh blog post) when the area was shrouded in beautiful mist but didn’t have time to explore all the reserve.

Legion of the Stag, Somerset Medieval Fighting Group

A few days ago I completed another shoot for my project Life In A Somerset Landscape.

I had been told about a ‪Medieval Fighting Group based in Ilminster Somerset that specialised in 12-14th century fighting ‬re-enactments.
This sounded a perfect fit for the project and so I made a call to a chap called who ran the group called James to have a chat.
