Want to Become a Professional Photographer? Here’s how you Rocket the Quality of your Shots

Do you have a keen interest in nature? Maybe you just don’t know how, or where to get started. Either way, here are some helpful tips that will help you to embark on your photography journey.

Plan Accordingly

Believe it or not, a good pair of hiking shoes can go a long way. Make sure that you dress properly for the weather too, because you never know when it is going to take a turn. It’s a good idea for you to take layers if possible, as this will ensure that you can stay warm but cool off easily. Check the rules and regulations for the area you’re visiting too, as this may change the way that you approach your photography. If you need to stay in the country for quite some time then hiring an immigration lawyer may be a good idea, so you aren’t limited as to how much time you have to get the best photo.

Familiarise Yourself with your Camera Settings

Shooting in RAW will give you the best quality images. It’s a good idea for you to use the lowest ISO if you can, as this will help you to bring way more light to your image. Make sure that you adjust the shutter speed as well, as this will help you to compensate. If you are not experienced with your camera, then take the time to learn how to use it before you go out.

Bring the Right Equipment with You

Unless you have an incredibly steady hand, or unless you are planning on opting for a blurred effect, you will need to take a tripod with you. If you do not have one, then a rock or even a tree branch can work. If you are not able to use anything like this then keep your arms against your body and hold the camera as close to you as possible. This will give you the maximum amount of stabilisation. If it is very sunny outside then a lens holder may be a good way for you to stop glare from appearing in your photo. If it’s raining, then a waterproof cover may be what you need.

You Don’t need a Great Camera

While having a fancy Nikon or even a Canon camera can help you to capture the best images, you don’t need one. If you cannot afford to buy a DSLR camera then a simple camera phone can do the trick. Technology is always advancing, and phone cameras are not as bad as they used to be. In fact, they can be used to take fantastic pictures.

The Rule of Thirds

A good rule of thumb would be for you to imagine that the image is cut into 9 sections.  You will need to imagine two vertical and then two horizontal lines. Each line is where your eye will fall. Place your subject on the intersecting lines, if you want to create a much more dynamic photo.

Don’t Get too Close

Animals frighten very easily. The last thing you want is to scare off the wildlife before you have had the chance to photograph them, so don’t get too close and always keep your distance.
